You're sitting with friends, sipping cocktails
from coconut shells while Willie Colon and Ray Barretto provide the soundtrack
to your brunch. Paisa Plates are stacked high with Chicharron and coconut-crusted
French Toast is topped with cinnamon whipped cream.
The scenario might seem unlikely for Boston's
financial district, but it's the latest in a growing trend of brunch options in
the heart of the city.
'El Barrio' is a late, come-as-you-are brunch at the Good Life on Kingston Street, starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
Inspired by Latin themed foods, and the sounds of Latin soul, 'El Barrio' combines the rhythms and tastes of South America with a drink menu sure to please the most avid Caipirinha connoisseur.
Boston's top DJs have also signed on to sweeten the bill, with DJ 7L of the Bladerunners, Adam Gibbons of Uhuru Afrika and Boston Favorite KC Hallet spinning rare Latin grooves from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
